Breakfast at Universal Studios Hollywood

July 30, 2018 No Comments

Now that we are in the heart of summer (and amusement park season), most people heading to the parks are doing so early to beat the crowds and the crazy heat we’ve been having in SoCal. I know that I sometimes forgo breakfast in order to get a jump on my drive to Universal Studios. Here’s my list of places to grab breakfast on your way into the park or inside, on your way to your favorite attraction! As I mentioned in my most recent post on Universal Studios, I like to grab something and get in line for the Tram Ride since you can eat in line and on the ride itself. I’ve done all the work for you. If they don’t offer breakfast or brunch items, I have not listed it here. Items from CityWalk can be brought into the park, even opened bottles of water. Warning: you are going to be limited to mainly carbs; you know donuts are a major thing right now!

City Walk

Voodoo Doughnut- This is my pick for two reasons: they are usually the first thing open at CityWalk (as early as 7am) and the quality of the donuts are better here than at their flagship store in Portland!

Sparkey’s Mini Donuts & Chocolates- Grab a famous “bucket of mini donuts” and head to the park!

Jamba Juice- Easily the healthiest option and great for on the go. They also open early at 8am.

Cinnabon- They don’t open until 11am but worth mentioning since it’s a breakfast option. This one may be open earlier than the CityWalk location since it generally opens along with the park hours.

The Crepe Cafe- Plenty of delicious sweet or savory crepe options here and they open fairly early at 9:30 am!

Starbucks- Probably better to hit this one up; the two in the parks can get crazy busy.

Subway- Now that they serve breakfast sandwiches, this Subway opens at 7am for a heartier choice.

In the Park

Cletus’ Chicken Shack- This is mainly a lunch spot (one of my favs) but they do have a chicken and waffle sandwich on their menu, complete with butter and syrup!

French Street Bistro- A quick place to stop for pastries and coffee.

Lard Lad Donuts- Here we go with more donuts. But this is a place to score those huge, pink Simpsons donuts, as well as other types and of course, coffee.

Cinnabon- This is a stand alone kiosk across from the Walking Dead attraction with plenty of seating in the plaza.

Starbucks- There are locations on the upper and lower lots.

Overall, there is not much to choose from.  My hope is that the park will have some more sit-down options in the future. But for now, there are at least some choices to get you by on your way into the park. Nothing like a sugar rush bright and early!
